Roger Zelazny, The Doors of His Face, the Lamps of His Mouth

would be better titled A Rose for Ecclesiastes, since that story is far away the best in the collection. (The cover artist seems to agree with me.) In fact, the title story is pretty much the only one in the selection that left me cold, because the rest of this is fantastic. I especially liked Love is an Imaginary Number, a clear predecessor to the Amber series that exhausts Amber's premise in less than a dozen pages.
